Short bio
Suzanne Piscopo is an Associate Professor within the Department of Health, Physical Education and Consumer Studies at the Faculty of Education of the University of Malta. She has over 30 years teaching experience in different settings, having worked with young children, teenagers, university students, adults and senior citizens. For the past 24 years she has mainly been involved in the training of prospective Home Economics, Primary School and Early Childhood educators, as well as facilitating Continuing Professional Development activities and courses for different professionals. She has also contributed to a number of research studies and curriculum development projects at national and international level with a focus on food, nutrition, Mediterranean Diet, home economics, sustainability and consumer education. Suzanne is a frequent speaker at schools or community events and on radio and TV, offering practical guidance on aspects of wellbeing. She also writes short stories for children with various health and education themes. Suzanne is a Registered Nutritionist (UK), Registered European Health Promotion Practitioner and Past President of the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior.
